The Public Works Department of the City of Boulder City manages all aspects of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for the City of Boulder City and provides development services for all private construction projects. We maintain top quality parks, streets, flood control facilities, buildings, water distribution system, sewer collection and treatment facilities.  In addition, the Public Works Department is responsible for managing numerous other City items, including the municipal cemetery, refuge collection and disposal, and many of the City’s agreements with local business operations such as gravel pits and power plants.   The Public Works Department professionally represents Boulder City at the Southern Nevada Water Authority meetings, Regional Transportation Commission meetings, and Flood Control District meetings.

Message from the Director:

I am excited to inform you the Nevada Way Revitalization Project is moving forward on schedule.

As part of all City roadway projects, the Public Works Department sends certified letters to the gas company, telephone company, and cable company.   These letters urge these providers to complete their work prior to the City repaving the street.

As many of you have witnessed, last week Southwest Gas began work to install new gas main along Nevada Way near the Elm Street intersection.

The contractor, Harbor Construction Inc., working for the City begins work January 3rd.  Most of the work will be done between the hours of 6PM to 6 AM, when traffic volumes are at a minimum.   A minor amount of work will be done during daylight hours, as long as it does not disrupt businesses and traffic.  As of January 3rd, the dedicated contact number for the project is 293-9205.  The Public Works Department phone number Monday thru Friday 7 AM to 6 PM is 293-9200.   Evening and weekend emergencies should go to the Police Department Dispatch at 293-9224.

The City will have a consultant, 4 Leaf Consulting, working at all times during construction.  While most of the time the consultant will be in the field, they will have office hours inside the LA Department of Water & Power Building on Monday & Wednesday mornings from 8 AM until Noon and Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 2 PM until 6 PM.   Please call 293-9205 or stop in during office hours with any project related questions.  We are all here to serve the public and make this construction period run as smooth as possible.
