These procedures do not apply if you received a
citation for speeding more than 85 miles per hour,

Option 1

POINTS WILL BE ASSESSED.
Procedure to follow:
Pay the full bail amount shown on your citation in
the box headed "Total Bail & Fees."
The Court must receive the money no later than the
court date shown on the face of your citation.
You will be found guilty of the violation and points
will be assessed against your driving record.
Payment of the bail can be made by a money order,
cashier's check, or VISA, Mastercard or Discover
credit card.
Option 2
PAY FULL BAIL AND ATTEND TRAFFIC SCHOOL - NO POINTS
WILL BE ASSESSED.
Procedure to follow:
Pay the full bail amount shown on your citation in
the box headed "Total Bail & Fees."
Complete traffic school. This may be done in the
area in which you live. To locate a traffic school
in your area, check the yellow pages or contact your
local DMV. If you reside in Nevada, you may contact
the Court and request a list of accepted traffic
schools. You may also attend traffic school via the
internet. Click here for a list of approved traffic
school internet sites.
Send to the Court the full bail amount and the
original completion form/card given to you from
traffic school. The Court must receive these two
items no later than the court date shown on the face
of your citation. It is your responsibility to make
sure the court receives proof of completion.
Your charge will be amended to a non-moving
violation with no points assessed against your
driving record.
Payment of the bail can be made by a money order,
cashier's check or VISA, Mastercard or Discover
credit card.
Option 3
APPEAR IN COURT ON YOUR ASSIGNED COURT DATE.
No Proof of Insurance
and/or Expired Registration:
The following four options apply to citations
involving insurance and registration.
Option 1
INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION WERE CURRENT WHEN
CITATION WAS RECEIVED.
Procedure to follow:
If the vehicle you were operating was insured and/or
registered at the time you received the citation but
you didn't have proof in the vehicle, you may submit
that proof to the Court office on or before your
scheduled Court date in lieu of your appearance in
Court.
No money will be owed to the Court as long as proof
can be shown that the insurance and/or registration
were current at the time the citation was issued.
Option 2
INSURANCE WAS NOT CURRENT WHEN CITATION WAS RECEIVED
BUT IS NOW.
Procedure to follow:
If the vehicle was not insured at the time but you
have since acquired insurance, you need to submit
that proof along with a fine in the amount of
$187.00.
The proof and the fine money must be received on or
before your scheduled court date.
Payment of the fine can be made with a money order,
cashier's check or VISA, Mastercard or Discover
credit card.

RECEIVED BUT IS NOW.

cashier's check or a VISA, Mastercard or Discover
credit card.
Option 4

CITATION WAS RECEIVED.
Procedure to follow:
If the insurance was not current and/or the
registration was not current, you must either appear
in court on the date and time shown on your citation
or post full bail in lieu of your appearance.
Mandatory Appearances:
The following require a mandatory appearance in
Court regardless of where you reside. Your court
date is shown on the face of your citation.

What Happens if you Fail to Appear:
If you fail to appear on your court date and you
have not:
paid the full bail and/or
paid the full bail and attended traffic school
and/or
shown proof of insurance or registration
the Judge will order a bench warrant for your
arrest. At that time, a notice will be sent to your
department of motor vehicles requesting the
suspension of your driver's license. Any money
ultimately owed to the Court will be increased
considerably.
Juvenile Matters:
Juveniles must make an appearance in Court and be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. No court date
changes will be granted to the juvenile. All
arraignment request changes must be made by the
parent or guardian at the Court counter. If a
juvenile fails to appear, a bench warrant for his or
her arrest will be issued. Additionally, if a
juvenile appears without a parent, his or her matter
will not be heard by the Court until a parent or
guardian is present.
Parking, Seatbelt or Equipment Violations:
If you have received a parking violation or a
seatbelt violation you may pay the full bail at the
Court office on or before your scheduled court date
in lieu of your appearance. If you received an
equipment violation you may either pay the full bail
amount or bring proof the equipment was fixed. Proof
would be your citation signed by a Boulder City
Police Officer.
Further Questions Regarding Court Procedures:
If you have questions that have not been answered
here, contact the Court immediately. The time frame
in which you have to complete your obligations
towards your matter is limited. All obligations must
be completed by the court date assigned to you. If
the obligations have not been completed by the court
date assigned, a bench warrant for your arrest will
be requested and your driver's license will be
suspended. Any questions you have on procedures of
the Court must be directed to the Court.
