A volunteer group selects a park area from a list provided by the City. The group completes a combined application/liability waiver form. The letter of understanding initiates the Adopt-A-Park process.
Boulder City will provide:
A courtesy sign installed at the park site which acknowledges the sponsoring group as committed to assisting with maintenance of the selected park
Irrigation system maintenance
All pesticide, herbicide, and other chemical applications
Mowing
A yearly progress meeting with the sponsoring group to assess Adopt-A-Park program involvement
THE SPONSORING GROUP’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Enter into an Adopt-A-Park agreement with the City
Sign the waiver and release of liability
Set up and maintain a schedule for volunteer group members to fulfill the duties of the agreement
Monitor the Park condition
DUTIES of THE SPONSORING GROUP
Remove trash and debris at least six times per year
Shape tree wells (if necessary) every spring
Remove weeds around plants, trees and playground, in March and August
Paint fire hydrants once every two years
Monitor condition of sidewalks, park signs, playground equipment and landscaping
